Creating Economic Pathways for Hardworking People, Changing Lives Permanently
We turn farmers into job creators by equipping them with shared infrastructure(stores, grain processing, connecting roads and electricity), hands-on training, and stable markets—from value-addition hubs and irrigation systems to demonstration farms and direct links to premium buyers. This is how rural hustlers grow thriving enterprises.
The Shika Mkono Story
Shika Mkono Limited was born from a simple belief: every person deserves dignified work, not handouts. Founded as a social enterprise in rural Uganda, we create sustainable employment by giving a hand to those with a knack for creating jobs in their communities. Our name means "Take My Hand" in Swahili.
Welcome to Shika Mkono
Turning Poverty into Opportunity Through Church-Centered Enterprise
Shika Mkono began as a small farm and has evolved into a demonstration hub where faith and enterprise collaborate to transform rural communities. From our ridge-top campus, we model coffee production, modern dairy, maize milling, animal feeds, piggery, goats, poultry, and food crops—alongside eco-tourism and conservation. Through partnerships with para-church institutions, we disciple farmers, incubate small businesses, and provide shared infrastructure that lifts entire households. Former workers have become entrepreneurs, families have been restored, and villages now enjoy electricity, clean water, roads, and new economic hope. Shika Mkono—Take My Hand. Let’s build a different story together.
